Our members are women who work, have worked or are interested in working in all sectors of the financial industry.
Areas of expertise include commercial and investment banking, portfolio and personal finance management, risk advisory, insurance, research, accounting, consulting and financial journalism.
Please note that membership is only open to women
As our membership grows we are working to maintain the balance of members in line with our mission “to provide women in finance a forum in which they can further their professional development, network and exchange information, and meet like-minded women of all nationalities.”
Automatic Membership is available to those who work in a financial institution or those in a finance function in a commercial company.
For those who do not meet the above requirement, membership is subject to board approval and requires that you do the following:
- Attend at at least one event as a guest
- Introduce yourself to 3 members of the Board
- Explain what your membership will bring to other members and how you will enable us to meet our goals
Following that, your membership will be discussed at the next board meeting – generally held on the first Tuesday of the month. As soon as a decision regarding your application is made, you will be informed in a timely manner. If the Board rejects your application you are more than welcome to attend events as a guest. The goal of this process is to ensure that those who become members truly are interested in AWF and the goals and mission of the organisation.
